I have recently been working on a horizontal drop down menu for my web portfolio because I am planning to upload work that does not fall under categories I currently have on my website. To view my “test” version, click here. My problem with it at the moment is that while it works fine in Firefox, (and I assume Internet Explorer), it doesn’t quite work the way I want it to in Safari. My “intended audience” of my portfolio are most likely Mac users who use Safari and Firefox. In Safari, the upper tier of the menu shifts toward the left when hovered over. I have also tried to use a vertical drop down that pushes the page down. To view that example, click here. The vertical drop down does not shift when hovered over, but I much prefer the horizontal drop down, as that is how I had envisioned the menu (minus the shifting problem in Safari). If anyone knows how to fix this problem, it would be much appreciated if you would leave a comment.
I have also been working on grad school applications! It has been very difficult for me to concentrate on writing personal statements, especially since I am typing them up on my laptop, which offers so many distractions! Still, I am hoping to submit an application tomorrow, after I have finished “extensively” editing my statement and have had a few more people read over it.
